Access Floor
Access floors are installation floors made of system components that consist of an access floor substructure with height-adjustable steel supports and carrier plates made of wooden material, calcium sulphate, or metal. The surfaces of an access floor are, in most cases, already lined with ready-made coverings like carpet, PVC, linoleum, rubber, etc., by the manufacturer. The carrier plates have a standard grid of 600 x 600 mm and can be lifted at every accessible point.
Access floor systems become more and more a set part of modern construction planning, as they offer about 95 % space for the installation of domestic technology and are characterized by the highest flexibility.
Office buildings, data centres, and switchboards are typical fields of application.
We have been in the floor system business since 1975, and since then have used all access floor systems of renowned manufacturers.
Cavity Floor
Cavity floor laid dry
A dry cavity floor provides a hollow space for installations. The surface of this system floor consists of one-layer mineral fibre panels with groove edges. The milled panels are affixed to each other due to static reasons. Access to the installations in the cavity happens through inspection openings or through an integrated access floor duct. A dry cavity floor system can be used with a wide variety of surfaces like e.g., elastic or textile surfaces, parquet, laminate, or stone.
Additionally, the cavity floor can be fitted with a floor heating or air conditioning system, respectively.
Characteristics of this floor system:
- non-flammable panel material
- dry laying, no moisture during building
- Laying of the surface is immediately possible (no waiting times due to the drying out of the screed)
- Adjustment to all floor systems is possible
- High load capacity
- Height adjustment is possible
- Largest possible space for installations
- Level surface
- Mounting of the descending floor is possible
Renovation of Access Floors
When an access floor is highly stressed over the years, this can clearly be seen. Walking areas are worn, panels rattle, and joints don’t fit any longer.
Time for a renovation of the access floor, as already with a surface of 100 m², this is more favourable than a new floor. Here we use our mobile machinery. The old access floor panels are lifted. Broken panels are disposed of immediately and replaced by new ones. Carpets and elastic surfaces are removed carefully and quietly. The panels are cleaned, special glue is spread, and the new carpet is applied with protrusion. The protrusion is cut off with the trimming machine. After inspection of the substructure, replacement of broken supports and, if required, cleaning of the floor, the panels are remounted. The entire flexibility of the access floor remains.
Of course, there is also the possibility to lay the new surface with SL tiles (self-leveling tiles).
On demand, we renovate your access floor with all the furniture remaining, after work or at the weekend, because the advantages of an access floor renovation are obvious:

- No increased costs due to the downtime of staff.
- The entire work of renovation is carried out on the spot.

- dismantling or removal of furniture if necessary, as well as return transport and reassembly.
